Audi in Michael palya and chaos at the airport

Where is Bangalore headed? Are we living in a pseudo world of our own? The title of this post came about on a day when I was amazed to see an Audi in a place called Michael playa close to my house! I thought “man, Bangalore is going places!”. The same evening I had to pick up my sister from the airport and I thought to myself “Bangalore is going nowhere”. It was complete chaos! The parking space was overflowing, a traffic jam in there to add to it. There is just one approach road to get to the arrivals and absolutely no place for tired passengers to get into the car peacefully. I am sure that landing at the Bangalore airport is easily the most stressful experience of any passenger no matter how far he/she has traveled! To add to this, all the refueling trucks and the tractors carrying the passenger luggage use the solitary entrance to the arrivals section of the airport. This is disorganized hell, period.

just to add to another perspective to your observation, how about a very organized airport, with multiple lane approach roads, plush lawns watered very day, similar to the very organized IT companies, compared to so many low income localities in bangalore without water? is development whatever is beneficial to certain individuals or to the majority? majority of indian population is low income!

Ashish,

Thats a good point you make and I must confess I have thought about it myself. But whats important is to have allround development. We cant stop improving our airports just coz we have low income people. Specially in a populous country like ours we should recognise that it is going to be a slow process. But what hurts the most is that there is apparently so much money pouring into that airport and it still sucks ...
